There is a new mural in Johnson City, NY created by Brent Houzenga, an artist from New Orleans. The incredible work consists of a series of portraits of George F. Johnson, President and co-owner of Endicott-Johnson Shoes, and one of the architects of the ‘Square Deal’.
GFJ saw to it that E-J Shoe workers had homes and other benefits not typically provided by any other company. Johnson City, NY was named for George F, and his legacy lives on in the form of numerous parks, E-J homes, and carousels he helped to provide.
Now, this beautiful mural also helps his memory live on.
The mural is located at 17 Broad Street, near the intersection with Main Street. Learn more about the artist on his site: https://www.houzenga.com and visit him on Instagram @houzenga.
