Beautiful, quirky, fun and historic — it’s Oneonta, NY! The “City of the Hills” is the western gateway to the Catskills, located in the foothills along the banks of the Susquehanna River. Oneonta’s downtown is host to great shops, one of my favorite small bookstores – @thegreentoadbookstore – and a series of great restaurants and grills.
Like nearby Cooperstown, Oneonta is a baseball town – home to the Oneonta Outlaws (New York Collegiate Baseball League) and is adjacent to the impressive Cooperstown Dreams Park, a large multi field baseball complex that focuses on youth baseball. Oneonta is also home to two Colleges – SUNY Oneonta, dating back to 1889, and Hartwick which originated in Hartwick Seminary, founded 1797.
